The Delite is a full-suspension touring ebike for paved and dirt roads. It's also the best cross-town commuter that we sell, especially if you like to ride fast.
Full-suspension systems, where there are shocks for both the front and rear wheel, are most commonly seen on mountain bikes. It is rare to see them on conventional touring or commuting bikes for a couple of reasons. They add complexity and significant weight. And they're overkill for most riders who'd just as happily slow down a bit and/or stand on the pedals when it gets bumpy.
Ebikes change this. They are larger and heavier and typically ridden faster. Riding an ebike with no suspension on a bumpy paved road is challenging and relatively uncomfortable. Adding a front shock helps. Adding the rear shock brings control and confidence to the ride. For this reason, Riese & Müller calls their full-suspension system "Control Technology."
There are currently two Delite models available. The Delite4 and the Delite, which we're going to call the Delite3. The Delite3 has been in production since 2020 with a few little tweaks along the way. It uses Bosch System 2, with a maximum battery capacity of 625Wh. The Delite4 was released in 2024 and uses Bosch System 3 aka Smart System with a maximum battery capacity of 1000Wh (750Wh PowerTube battery + 250Wh PowerMore). Both are awesome bikes, and the ride quality is nearly identical.

Pricing And Availability
It is a great time to get a Delite aka Delite3. The price has been lowered significantly. For too long this bike has lived in the shadow of its longer-distance sibling, the Superdelite. And it bums us out! The 625Wh battery provides more than enough range if you're using this as a cross-town bike.
