An e-bike system describes a collection of e-bike parts that work together. Typically, the parts of one e-bike system are not compatible with another.
The fundamental parts of a system are the motor, battery, display, remote, control electronics, wiring harness, and battery charger. You can learn all about the current Bosch e-bike systems on their website.
All of our e-bikes use a mid-drive design, where the motor and control electronics are enclosed
in a drive unit attached to the bike's frame. Drive units are described by their output power,
maximum output torque, and maximum assist speed. You can learn all about the Bosch drive unit lineup on their website.
A good e-bike display is easily readable and not complicated to use. It provides the rider with essential information:
current speed, current power level selection, battery level, remaining range, trip mileage, and total mileage. Premium level displays
offer additional information like trip time, rider cadence, rider output power, and GPS navigation. Bosch makes several displays. Most of them can be
retrofitted if you don't like the stock display on a bike. You can read all about Bosch's display options on their website.
E-bike batteries are described by their nominal voltage (V) and capacity in watt hours (Wh). All Bosch e-bike batteries are 36 volt, so we only use
watt hours when comparing them. Bosch e-bike batteries have a number in their name, ex. Powerpack 500, that describes the number of watt hours. The
larger the number, the greater the capacity, and the greater the range per charge. Some Bosch e-bikes are configured with DualBattery, where two batteries are
attached to the system. You can read all about Bosch's battery options on their website.
Benno has style for miles, and this bike shows it off. The design is a unique blend of golden era American Schwinn and European city bikes. This is a bike that gets lots of complements.
As with all the Bennos, the ride quality is excellent. It's surprisingly sporty for its looks. Also surprising is that this is designed to haul a lot of weight. Up to 80lbs on the included rear rack. An optional frame-mounted front rack can comfortably haul 35lbs.
This is the prettiest utility ebike we know of!
